Midcoast Kayak and Ocean Gables have teamed up to create an unforgettable island kayaking experience.  Ocean Gables, a uniquely charming lodge, is located on the harbor in the small fishing village of Friendship, Maine. The house has a spectacular view of Muscongus Bay out onto Friendship Long and Cranberry Island.  The front deck is perfect for early morning coffee, watching the harbor come alive with fishing and lobster boats.  Ocean Gables sits just a hundred feet from oceans’ edge, so you can end your days’ paddle with a warm shower within minutes.  In the evening relax on the deck, grilling up your own meal or enjoy the setting sun while you feast on lobster and mussels prepared by Midcoast Kayak. 
           
Ocean Gables is unique in that it provides a fully equipped kitchen for your convenience, 4 bedrooms with 5 beds, living room, 4 bathrooms, a foyer, TV room, rear and front decks, grill and garage.  All linens are provided by Ocean Gables and kayaking gear is provided by Midcoast Kayak.  You will need to bring personal essentials.  Alcohol is allowed but cannot be provided.

One Night Harbor to Harbor Trip

overview--Paddle round trip from Muscongus Harbor to Ocean Gables with an overnight stay at Ocean Gables Lodge.

Meet at 9:00am at Muscongus Harbor. Paddle out from Muscongus Harbor towards Hog and Bremen Long Islands heading up the coast.  Enjoy a midway island stop for lunch.  Arrive at Ocean Gables in time for the sunset and dinner provided by Midcoast Kayak.  In the morning enjoy a heartily prepared breakfast before gearing up and paddling back to Muscongus Harbor.

Two Night Weekend Warrior Package

overview--Two night stay and one full day guided paddle and one days meals prepared.

Arrive at Ocean Gables anytime Friday. Either bring your dinner up and prepare it in the kitchen or on the grill while relaxing on the deck, or make a jaunt to town and experience the famous Moody’s Diner or the Narrows. On Saturday after breakfast, Midcoast Kayak will meet you at the lodge at 10:00 am for a days paddle exploring the Friendship Archipelago, a cluster of islands off of Friendship.  Enjoy another evening and morning at Ocean Gables and check out on Sunday.
